The Town of Milford is seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of Water Foreman.  The Water Foreman will report to the Director of Water Utilities and must be able to perform highly responsible duties associated with the operation and maintenance of a municipal water system as well as be able to coordinate and supervise all daily, routine operational and maintenance functions at the Water Department, pumping station, storage facilities and distribution system.  In the absence of the Director, the Water Foreman will provide the Board of Water and Sewer Commission with accurate information regarding the operation of the water system.

The successful candidate must have a minimum of two years post-secondary education or equivalent in the operation and maintenance of a small municipal water system plus 3 years of progressive experience in this field or any combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.   Must be able to work in a supervisory capacity and possess strong supervisory skills. NH CDL B License and NH Grade II Water Treatment and Water Distribution Certification are required or the ability to obtain each within one year of employment. Additionally, the successful candidate must be able to work with minimal direction; have a thorough knowledge of the principles and standard procedures for the operation and maintenance of water treatment facilities and water distribution systems; possess thorough knowledge of the operation and maintenance of  water department equipment; have extensive knowledge of chemistry and biology as it relates to operation of water treatment processes; and possess a thorough knowledge of standard practices, methods, tools and materials of electrical instrumentation and mechanical maintenance.  Position requires logical, mechanical or scientific expertise to resolve problems of a technical nature as well as thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards associated with the operation of the water department equipment and buildings. Individual must be dependable, responsible, and conscientious while continually striving to improve knowledge and skills relevant to the position.
