The members of the Milford Fire Department train on the first Tuesday and Wednesday of each month for company training. They also meet on the 3rd Monday and 4th Tuesday of the month for Rescue Training. They are required to attend 9 company drills and 9 rescue drills a year. Company drills are designed to keep their fire fighting skills sharp, they consist of hose line evolutions, ladder evolutions, Search and Rescue evolutions and R.I.T. (Rapid Intervention Team).

The Milford Fire Department is a combination department with three full-time and forty-eight call personnel, protecting a community of approximately fifteen thousand residents over twenty five square miles.
We operate four engines and one ladder company. Each company is supervised by a Captain and Lieutenant. The department also operates a heavy rescue which is staffed by all personnel who are trained in technical rescue, auto extraction, hazardous materials and water rescue.
