Patrol Division

The patrol division is comprised of seventeen full-time sworn officers consisting of four squads, each assigned to a Sergeant. Patrol responsibilities include answering calls for service, enforcing motor vehicle laws, criminal investigations, accident investigations, handling animal complaints, and rendering any other assistance as may be required during the course of day, evening, or midnight shifts.

Juvenile Officer

The Juvenile Officer position was created in 2006 in an effort to bring the police department closer to the young people in our community. The Juvenile Officer investigates any crimes in Milford in which juveniles are possible offenders. He works closely with the District Court and the Juvenile Probation Officer to prosecute and or divert juveniles who come into the court system.

Detective Division

The Milford Police Detective Division is responsible for investigating both misdemeanor and felony level offenses. Through diligent well planned investigative techniques, our Detectives gather, process, analyze and preserve evidence in our best attempt to solve crimes. Our Detectives are tenacious in their investigative techniques and work hard to ensure the safety and well being of victims who are affected by the actions of others.

Motorcycle Unit

The Milford Police Departments Motorcycle Unit was officially started in 2004 with the purchase of the town’s first Harley Davidson motorcycle.  The motorcycle was a 2003 Harley Davidson Electra Glide and was purchased utilizing a grant.  The motorcycle was equipped with emergency lights, siren, specialized communication equipment, RADAR, and is clearly marked with the Department’s seal and police markings.

Accident Reconstruction Unit

The Milford Technical Accident Reconstruction Team (TAR) is a task-organized group of officers that serve in a variety of assignments within the department and are called on to function as a team when needed to investigate certain motor vehicle accidents.

The TAR Team is activated for all fatal accidents, DWI related accidents, serious bodily injury accidents, and other collisions in which the technical reconstruction will be useful to the investigation.

Judy Spitz

Joining Milford Police Department in 1997 as a part-time administrative assistant and going full-time in 2000 as the Support Division Clerk, Judy has just passed the ten year milestone. 

Married to David (who is retired from NH State Police and Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department), she has 3 boys, the oldest is a 12 year veteran of the LAPD (I guess working in a police department

Civilian Clerks

Civilian Clerks

The civilian clerks are the people you first see when coming to the Police Department. Their primary responsibilities are  answering and directing the phone calls that come in on the non-emergency numbers, taking care of the "Good Morning Milford" participants and greeting the public when they come into the station. The Police Department is physically open every day from 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM.
