The Milford Police Department Patrol Sergeant is responsible for a group of officers known as a squad. Each respective Sergeant supervises one squad, and each officer in that squad reports directly to his or her assigned squad sergeant. Additionally, they conduct internal investigations and administer discipline, handle citizen complaints, as well as standard patrol duties.
Attorney Michael McCall is the Prosecutor for the Milford Police Department. The prosecutor represents the victims of criminal acts and prosecutes those arrested or summonsed for misdemeanor, violation and juvenile offenses by the Milford Police Department. All misdemeanor, violation and juvenile offenses are tried at the Milford District Court.
The patrol division is comprised of seventeen full-time sworn officers consisting of four squads, each assigned to a Sergeant. Patrol responsibilities include answering calls for service, enforcing motor vehicle laws, criminal investigations, accident investigations, handling animal complaints, and rendering any other assistance as may be required during the course of day, evening, or midnight shifts.
