If you would like to obtain a copy of a police report a written request form must be submitted to the department. The forms are available at the department or on our website. A report needs to be approved by a supervisor before it is ready for release and you will be called once the report is ready for pickup. Each report costs $.50 per page and you will be told the cost when we call you. The report(s) need to be picked up at the department and you will need to provide a photo I.D.
-Incident/Arrest Reports: may take up to 5 business days once the incident/arrest has been closed. If you are looking for a copy of your complete arrest file, which is called a 2.10 Discovery, your request will go through prosecution and may take up to 14 business days.
-Accident Reports: may take up to 14 business days.
A parking ticket must be paid within 72 hours (3 days) of the ticket being issued. If payment is not received within 72 hours, a summons to appear in the Milford District Court will be mailed to the registered owner. Please insert the fine amount into the envelope and you may drop it off at the department (Lobby is open daily from 7:00am-11:00pm) or put it in the drop box located near the front entrance. You may also mail the envelope, with payment enclosed, to the department. Please make checks payable to the “Town of Milford New Hampshire”.
Applications for pistol permits are located at the department or on our website. If you are a Milford resident, a complete application must be submitted to the department along with the $10.00 application fee (we accept cash or check only). Please make checks payable to the Milford Police Department. You will be called once the permit is ready for pick up and will need to provide a photo I.D. when you come in. If MPD did not respond to the scene of your accident (except in cases of a hit & run) and the following occurred as a result of the accident: combined vehicle/property damage in excess of $1,000.00 or more and/or any personal injury, a State Accident Report needs to be reported in writing to the NH Division of Motor Vehicles within 15 days of the date of the accident. You can pick up a State Accident Form at any local police department or on the NH DMV’s website: http://www.nh.gov/safety/divisions/dmv/.
Instructions for filling out your ticket and completing payment are located on the pink form attached to the ticket you received from the officer. Completed forms and payment(if being mailed) are mailed to the Department of Motor Vehicles; the green envelope is provided to you with the ticket.
Applications are to be made at the Milford Police Department at least 2 weeks in advance and cannot be made for more than 2 consecutive meetings within a 2 month period or 5 days in a 1 week period. It is the desire of the Milford Police Department that the Training/Community Room be a place that will be used by Milford-based educational, cultural, civic, philanthropic, and social organizations, both for-profit and non-profit for training and/or meeting purposes. It is the intent that these facilities are not to be used for individual purposes and functions. All applications are submitted to the Chief of Police.
Applications are at the department. When you turn in your application for processing you will need to include: a copy of your State of NH Hawkers & Peddlers License, a copy of your criminal background check and the $25.00 application fee (we accept cash or check only). Please make checks payable to the Milford Police Department. Criminal background checks are done through the State of NH. Permits are good for 1 year.
