Event Date & Time:
Wed, 05/14/2014 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm
The Milford Historical Society will host Larkin & Smith at their Wednesday May 14, 2014 meeting at 7:oo pm in the Banquet Hall of the Milford Town Hall. Hallie Larkin and Stephanie Smith are 18th Century clothing experts who design and sew clothing from that period. They do a year round program at the National Historical Park in Lexington, Massachusetts. They will present a slide program and tell you what you have may not be what you think you have. Or you may have something and not realize what it is. We will have dresses from the Amherst Historical Society Collection that are not what they appear to be. You will have a chance to look at them first hand and learn how to tell the difference from a reproduction and the real thing. Also, if you are an 18th Century re-enactor, or interested in getting into this, you may already be familiar with Larkin & Smith and want to come and listen to their lecture and talk with them up close and live. This is a once-in-a-year chance to meet the “experts” so close to home. Please use the elevator entrance to the Town Hall on Middle Street to the 3rd floor. All Historical Society meetings are free and open to the public. Please call Polly Cote at (603) 673-1946 for further information.
