Milford Welfare Department
Town Welfare was established to fill a temporary need until something else happens such as employment, state aid, Social Security, etc. It is not intended to subsidize rent for someone living beyond ones' means.
Each client deserves dedicated time and attention to address their individual needs. Appointments are not necessary. There is only one staff person at the Milford Welfare Department, so please be patient.
If the Town is able to provide financial assistance, reimbursement is expected (when it is not a hardship to the client).
In order to qualify for Town Assistance, there are financial criteria, as well as non-financial requirements. A client must stay in compliance with Town Welfare and State Welfare guidelines (when appropriate) if assistance is to continue.
It is the responsibility of the client to call each time assistance is requested.
