How do I become a Milford Firefighter?
First you must be 19 years old, hold a valid NH drivers license andhave a High School Diploma or Equivalent. Fill out an application and submit it to the fire chiefs office. The hiring process involves a physical ability exam, oral board interview, and a chiefs interview. Successful candidates are then required to pass motor vehicle and criminal record checks as well as a medical exam by the departments occupational health care provider.

Anyone who wishes to burn clean, ordinary combustibles such as leaves, brush or untreated lumber, or have a camp or cooking fire must have written permission from the landowner and a fire permit from the fire department. You must be at least 18 years of age to obtain a written fire permit.
All Seasonal Burn Permits are required to be inspected prior to being issued each year. Please call 673-3136 to schedule your inspection.
