New Hampshire Self Employed Livelihood Fund (SELF)

Grant Application Filing Period: July 6 - July 17, 2020

The Governor also announced the Self Employment Livelihood Fund (SELF) as "a follow on" to the Main Street Relief Fund (MSRF), which he noted has released $330 million dollars to New Hampshire businesses to provide emergency financial relief to support New Hampshire self-employed, for-profit businesses due to the economic disruption caused by COVID-19.

Important Dates &Timeline:
  • Application Period: July 6,2020 – July 17, 2020
  • ​​​​Deadline to File a Completed Application: July 17, 2020
  • SELF Program Details
To qualify: Owner or owners of a business must be the only employees.
  • Business must not be permanently closed.
  • Business must not be in bankruptcy.
  • Business must have gross receipts in 2019 of less than $1 million.
  • Business must not be a nonprofit.
Funding:
  • $50,000 maximum award
  • Formula to receive an award will be similar to MSRF wherein certain COVID-19 relief resources will be calculated into the final award amount (the best description of this caveat I found was from the NH Business Review.  To wit: https://www.nhbr.com/new-hampshire-self-employed-relief-fund-opens-for-applications-july-6/
  •  According to the Governor, SELF-funds will be distributed faster than MSRF funds because the program is in place and operational.
