ISO Ratings
The Insurance Services Office, also known as ISO, has a program for rating the fire response and mitigation capabilities of a community to help establish reasonable insurance rates. In this program, all aspects of the community's ability to respond to fire emergencies are evaluated and a rating known as a Public Protection Classification is assigned to the community or portion of the community. The highest achievable classification is Class 1, and the lowest possible is Class 10.
Areas of Milford that are provided with fire hydrants have a Class 3 PPC rating. Areas without hydrants have a Class 4 rating.
