The Town of Milford is transitioning from Cigna to NY Life effective 1/1/2023.  NY Life documents will be added to the website as they are received.

BENEFIT APPLIES TO

Employee instructions:

Employees have the option to enroll in Class 1 Life (1 x salary) and AD& D or Class 2 Life (2 x salary) and AD&D.

 

  • 1x Life and 2x Life covered by the Employer 100%
  • Election for 3x Life would be at the expense of the Employee 100%.
  • STD paid by the Employer 100%
  • LTD is 100% the expense of the Employee
Start Date:1/1/2023 - 12/31/2024
Eligibility:

Active, full-time Employees of the Town of Milford regularly working a minimum of 35 hours per week. 

Employees are eligible for benefits on the first of the month following the date of hire.

Eligibility:

All full-time regular employees of the Town of Milford who work thirty-five (35) or more hours per week are required to be enrolled in the New Hampshire Retirement System (NHRS) immediately upon employment with the Town.  Enrollment in the NHRS is mandated by State Law.  Upon enrollment into the System, the employee will be provided with pertinent information regarding the NHRS. The appropriate share of the employee’s gross earnings is deducted bi-weekly from the employee’s paycheck and submitted monthly to the Retirement System.  At the same time, the Town of Milford contributes a percentage towards each employee’s retirement fund.

Since the New Hampshire Retirement System does not allow for additional contributions other than those percentages permitted by law, the Town has contracted with another Section 457 Deferred Compensation Plan provider.  At present, the Town offers plans through VALIC (The Variable Annuity Life Insurance Company). 

 

All contributions into the foregoing fund is strictly voluntary with dollar limitations on deferrals governed by the Section 457 plan.  Deductions are made with pre-tax dollars.  Any employee interested in enrolling in any of the foregoing Section 457 plans should contact the Human Resource Department for further information.

Verizon - First Responder Discount

 

Any discount will depend on the end-users' plan and their role in the Town. A regular employee would get up to 15% off a non-Unlimited Plan. Unlimited plans don't qualify for any additional discounts. First Responders get either 15% off or a dollar amount depending on the number of lines they have, but they can get a discount on the Unlimited plans.
