Winter Parking Ban Ordinance

When Snow Emergency Light is Activated

It shall be unlawful for any vehicle to be parked upon or adjacent to the streets of the Town of Milford between the hours of 1:00 a.m and 6:00a.m. between November 15th and the following April 15th. (Ord. 12-28-99 § 1 (part); Ord. 12-17-90 § 1) 

Whoever shall violate this Ordinance shall be guilty of a violation and subject to a parking fine in the amount of ten dollars ($10.00), or to be determined by the court not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00). In addition, any vehicle in violation may be towed by the town without notice to the owner at the owner’s expense. (Ord. 12-28-99 § 2)

Winter Sidewalk Obstructions

All items must be removed from the public sidewalks in the Town of Milford in preparation for snow plowing from November 15 through April 15.

Winter Snow Placement Ordinance

It is unlawful for any person, organization, or corporation to put or place, or cause to be put or placed, any snow or ice upon the surface of the traveled portion of any Class IV or Class V highway, or any municipal sidewalk in the town. The provisions of this section shall not apply where snow or ice is pushed across the traveled surface of such highways or sidewalks for the purpose of snow removal from land adjoining such highways and sidewalks, so long as none of the snow or ice so remains on such highways or sidewalks.

Whoever shall fail to comply with the provisions of Section 7.04.050 shall be guilty of a violation and subject to a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00) as determined by the court. Each day of violating Section 7.04.050 shall be deemed a separate occurrence. (Ord. 4-19-93 § 2)

Regulating Parking in Public Parking Lots

When the Snow Removal Parking Ban is in effect It is unlawful for any vehicle to be parked upon any Town owned/maintained Public Parking Lot in the Town of Milford between the hours of 1:00a.m. and 6:00a.m. between November 15th and the following April 15th. More specifically, said Public Parking Lots are located on Putnam Street, Middle Street and the Wadleigh Library Parking Lot in the Town of Milford. (Ord. 2-1-54, Art. V § 6)

Whoever shall violate this Ordinance shall be guilty of a violation and subject to a parking fine, in the amount of ten dollars ($10.00), or to be determined by the court not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00).
