Press Release - Vietnam Memorial

Vietnam Memorial Project Moving Forward

After several years of planning and design by a volunteer citizen committee with the help of the Milford Community Development Department, the concept for the proposed Vietnam Memorial has been developed. With significant public outreach and input, and support of the Recreation Commission and Heritage Commission, the Memorial will honor those Milford men and women who served their country in this conflict. The proposed location is downtown adjacent to Railroad Pond and will be connected by a walkway extending southerly from the existing World War II Memorial.

The current concept plan and a full description can be found on the Town of Milford website at https://www.milford.nh.gov/milford-memorial-committee/pages/vietnam-memo....

The Memorial Committee has developed a listing of those Milford residents who served in Vietnam. The list may not be fully complete and if there is a name that doesn’t appear on the list the Committee would like to know. The list and contact information can be found on the Memorial Committee website noted above.

The project will be entirely funded through private donations and fundraising is underway and contributions can be made by check or money order and mailed or delivered to Tina Philbrick, Executive Assistant, Town of Milford, 1 Union Square, Milford, NH 03055. The Committee appreciates the support of the community for this long overdue project.
